Yo long time since I've last posted! The last weekend has been a event filled one, and I just had to worry about homework lol! Well on saturday we scouts went for some National Scouts Sailing Regatta. It was pretty tiring cause we sailed from 10 to 6 straight under the sun, and there was no lunch provided! Now my butt hurts and there is a really obvious tanline. Gosh, but it sure was fun though it could be a little frustrating at times. The first race we started most of us didn't start at all. For those who know a little about the sea, it was basically because the current was going the opposite direction as the direction we were supposed to sail, and there was little or no wind. So we just ended up drifting backwards and did not start the first race. Luckily for us the wind picked up for the rest of the races though it was still light. It was really frustrating to round the upwind mark cause of the current again. I remembered I was like almost giving up rounding the upwind mark in the last race cause I had been stuck there for 20 minutes or so. But lady luck was somehow with me, and I rounded the upwind mark and raced as the wind picked up to my last mark and finish line. I had thought I was going to be last but well, randy and jensen met into some problems cause of the other sailors who had banged into randy... But well anyway, nushs got 3rd for group placing and I got 4th for individual placing! Well, we really worked hard during the regatta so I think we deserve it!
This was one of my busiest weekends cause immediately on the next day there was some cub scout sixer camp. We were going there to help out. Initially I was like, "oh sheez, so many things to do during this weekend" But well, it turned out ok for this camp. We had quite alot of "power" as you would call it, and during morning inespection, we could actually ask them to repack and unpack their stuff again and again, but we didn have the time. We also had like unlimited supply of food, i.e. we could just take the food that they had. Of course we were considerate la, didn't take the whole thing. We helped out quite a bit too, but not that much that would tire us out too much. We even had time to take a nap! And did I mention that we were sleeping on BEDs. Can you believe it, sleeping on beds during camps! Well, they were sponge beds, but we were still really comfy. Outdoor cooking was as usual fun and the campfire was quite ok too, except that you don't expect primary school children to be too enthu about these stuffs. After the campfire we helped clear up and then slacked ;) We were teasing chong all the way and it was quite funny. Ah, we also had no lights out! Fun sia at night. But well, I guess I was quite tired so as usual, I was the first one to sleep:) The next day was just area cleaning and we played taiti to pass time. We initially wanted to go vivo to watch transformers, but then we all backed out later. So overall, it was quite a slack camp, but as said by chong wei, service scouts in camps usually slack quite alot, and true, there were other ex-henry park service scouts helping out in the henry park camp who even had time to play soccer!
