Time to update, I guess. Today was ok... I had this super long period of break as always on friday. Ahmed went to art class to re-do his head. lol, who asked him to fool around during art class on wednesday! it was like, only when chua came to art class then he went super crazy, throwing the knife at a pile of clay! Super dangerous, but do you think he cares? lol, maybe yea. Jaryl had the math extra lesson, aik ann was at art too, stuart was helping out with his notice board. So it was left with me alone. Boring like siao. Just went around walking and wasting my time. Soon it was chinese which as usual, i have nothing to say about. Then came lunch, another 2 hours free. I just ate lunch, and slacked around doing nothing. I wanted to play basketball with jaryl and stuart but i saw that they were already playing one on one so i left them alone. Right after that, i saw people on the field. I went down and started playing soccer with them. Poor Ash got knocked by ahmed in the nose. He was bleeding quite badly! Ahmed's fault.
Preparation for ushering was not really interesting. I waited quite eagerly to go for soccer. As you all might know, I have not been playing soccer for a really really long time, and when i stepped onto that field, it felt really good. Too bad the year 3s have different timetable from us, so we cant play soccer with them. That really explains why we have not been playing soccer since the start of this year. After that, jaryl's dad fetched me home, thanks!
Well some stuff from the past few un-updated days. On sunday, I went for a course on how to sail in a sailing regatta, i.e. a sailing competition, courtesy of scouting :D Well, that means that I'm going for a sailing regatta! That's cool. However, there are only four schools in this competition, which means it not that big la. But who cares :P
Tomorrow is also going to be a fun day. Scouts are going to SJI for some "South West Games Day". We're going to participate in a street soccer event! That is going to be fun. One downside is that it's held in the afternoon, imagine the burning heat!
Ah yes, one thing i just remembered. I don't get to fly kites :( I have to usher for opening ceremony.... School always make the uniform groups the usher, why not the clubs and societies to usher? gosh, furthermore, we get to sit in the....hall. Stupid right.... We help the school usher and they just chunk us at the hall. Well, i can understand that there might not be enough space.... But at least treat us better right... We are serving the school for like, nothing. Not like they would record that for CIP hours, and not that I need the hours that much, but its better than nothing.
Speaking about that, the school is really treating scouts like free workers! For open house, they want a campsite. Previously,uh i cant remember, but they made us do some job. The management might think its easy to construct, but we're a relatively new scout troop, we dun have the expertise, and they expect us at times to construct and construct. Not that they gave us short notice, but it is very time consuming for us. Sometimes, when we lend poles to the school for activites, they dun treat them well, for example, orientation, they screwed nails into our poles. Well, I understand it might be miscommunication, but whatsoever, scouts are entitled to feel a little upset cause we believe in honouring our promises, which the school MIGHT not have done. Not that I am a complain king or what, but the school should really think more about the students and try to spread out the load when having school events. Yes indeed, I am QUITE honoured to be serving the school, but it seems to be the same people doing all the jobs. Maybe we should get those not doing much work to do some work, so that the workload is more spread out.
On a lighter note, I think school has been quite good to us, keeping in mind that it is new. We cannot expect so much from a new school. But sometimes it is really frustrating to see some people really carrying all the burdenst that could be easily spread out with other people, for example, daniel the scout SPL. I can see that he is really stressed out from all the work thrown at him including acedemic stuff. I sympathise with him deeply, so maybe its time for the management to do something about it.
PS Dont't flame me for this post! Especially the teachers.
