Yo I think I slacked quite a fair bit this week. Well its the first week of school anyway! However, I think I could had done more to help out in youth day though, but I was like quite confused over what was happening cause I missed out one important week of planning etc thanks to helping out in some regatta. I remember myself standing around in the temporary PSL room asking people what to do and happening lol. Come to think of it maybe the PSLs should had sent emails on progress or something like that, though they have a forum but thats more like to facilitate discussion. So sometimes while reading the forum I get a little lost on what's really happening. Ah well, youth day could have been better too in my opinion. One thing was that the carnival was a little too short, 3 hours is not really enough. Another point is that the stores were too widely spread. One might say that this helps to prevent overcrowding.. but since like a quarter of the school in involved in stalls, what crowd is there to expect! Well anyway jiayou for next year!
This weekend's gonna be real hectic. Tomorrow is the scout regatta, i.e. sailing competition, which had been postponed from late May. There are only like... 8 participants I think, and they're giving out awards from 1st-8th. Wow. But I'm really sure this is gonna be really tiring, cause there is gonna be 3-4 races, and i dun think we got many scouts to help us out in the "physical" stuff. We most probably have to go back to shore sometime because of the wind dying down or something. Gosh.... and the next day would be another camp... Must go to some ulu Sembawang park to camp with some primary school scouts. I'm gonna like teach them stuff etc, so its gonna be quite cool. Sad thing is the camp lasts all the way into youth day itself, around 1 pm then we're released, at Henry Park somemore... Well, now I dunno whether I should go for the PSL outing, cause its like I still have to chiong homework..=/
I had better get back to chiong homework instead of bloggin'! Ciao

Hm.... First day of the new semester was not that particularly impressive.. The few notable things were maybe is that chem became one hour instead of two hours, and that I changed place with gerlynn, meaning that i'm now seating with stuart. Well that is quite a good thing for me cause i was getting quite bored at my previous seating, and stuart is someone i know more, so its kinda easier to talk to him.
No offense to anyone, but don't you guys realise the way our geog teacher speaks is a little high pitched? and of course it turns out mildly irritating too. I believe that she can teach quite well though, or I hope so.
I hope the construction workers working on the scouts store below the grandstand don't sweep the place, cause our group just hung our IS thingo round a broom lol. Most prob tomorrow i'll bring some sticky tape and... stick it up :)
Oh ya... now the most memorable part of the day was during english when we were like making up mostly bullsh*t stories about our names, and ahmed saddique was one of the main highlights for that part.. I think you know why ;)

Woohoo! New skin! found it somewhere on blogskins. You guys like it?
PLTC (Patrol Leader's Training Camp) was quite fun in a nutshell. We did many things which would improve our leadership skills but unfortunately (or maybe fortunately for some people) because of the rain we did not have footdrill. The rain was especially heavy during the 2nd and 3rd day of the camp, and alot of programmes were shifted.
On the first day of the camp, we were hiking from New Town secondary to Pulau Ubin! Imagine the distance: 40km +++! Well we first hiked around dover area, and everyone was already starting to get a little tired. But well we still strove on and reached buonea vista mrt. Heng sia... we could take mrt to cover more than half the distance, all the way to tampines! After that i took over navigational duties, i.e. i was leading my patrol around tampines. I had to bring them to some ulu part of tampines which i had totally no idea about and they were like blaming me for getting them lost... I got a bit frustrated with them but still, I tyco-ed and led them to the right place. I must sorta thank zhang yao with supporting me through this period, he was one of the few in my patrol who did not blame me whatsoever. Well, we ran out of time once we reached some part of loyang, one or two bus stops after the flyover and took a bus. Along the way we met many patrols still hiking around and we were like laughing at them, just for the jest of it. We took a bumpboat from changi point to Pulau Ubin and started hiking from there to Nordin beach. Wow, for those of you who don't know, Nordin beach was right at the northern part of Ubin and we were at the south. Well, we hiked on but were totally tired out by that time. They even gave us a tent to carry "for fun"! Wah biang! It was really tiring to carry the tent and we kept pushing the job around. Once we reached nordin beach, we set up our bashas and had dinner. Dinner was totally disgusting... maybe you would call it a protein fest.. but there was seriously ALOT of insects jumping into our boiling water which was to cook our noodles. Only around 4 people got properly cooked noodles, and the rest survived on delicious mamee like dry noodles with seasoning. The night was filled with people in kelongs trying to sing techno music.. Can you imagine how horrible that was!? It was even worse than the chalet next door during the class chalet. We of course, had little sleep in peace.
The next day we just hiked back out to take the bumpboat back to Changi Point and had a good breakfest at the hawker centre there. I had carrot cake and warm soya bean. It was really shiok after the day before. We rested a while, discussed the campfire item and then took a bus back. the bus trip was one of the best parts sia, everyone just knocked out for about 40 minutes. When we arrived back at NTSS we had a re-vitalisation period. Thank Twa Pek Gong for that! We were real tired and had some good sleep. We were basically late for fall in after that and kenna pumping. From then on, I think everyone got the idea and started to chiong whenever got fall in. We had some lectures in the AVA room which were quite forgettable. From what I've heard, there was supposed to be teachers instead of service scouts teaching us but the teacher got admitted to a hospital. Hope he recovers soon! Oh ya, it was on this day that I was appointed to become a patrol leader :) Lots of people from the 23 Eagle Scout Group became PLs, though we were much less in strength than ACSI. At the end of the day, it was a really good sleep for all of us.
Waking up revitalised, we had a long day ahead of us. First we had our PT then breakfast, then morning inspection then another lecture. When the patrol leaders were reporting strength during the lectureeveryone was making alot of noise and so they kenna pumping. Well, funnily enough, the instructor didn't ask the PLs to pump along. After lunch was telematch. It was really fun especially the part where we all had to turn around a pole 20 times. Everyone was like dizzy like siao and walking in the wrong direction and even falling down! Even the leaders were laughing like siao, well of course they didn't participate. the rest of the telematches were quite fun too. After that was skill games. My patrol did quite well in this, we set quite a bit of records here and there. After all these fun was dinner, which was really good for a camp considering there were 5 different items which you could eat! The food had been not bad in the past few days too. At night our campfire which was pretty good, but not the best. Some of the events were cut short because of the time limits so it was less... enjoyable. Sleep was as usual, welcomed. However, it was not all that peaceful. We had a total of 4 fire drills including one false burglar alarm! Wah it was quite annoying to keep running up and down, and they were like in the middle of the night! After the last drill at 3 plus in the morning, we had our peace to sleep.
Most people looked forward to this day, because it was the day we could go home. Some of them alreasy started to count down from the day before! The closing ceremony was pretty long, because they had to call out everyone one by one to collect their certificates. on a side note, it was lucky that we only had 80 plus people in the camp. For me it was quite a sad day to leave so many new friends so quickly, and I don't even have their numbers. We had been through thick and thin together for the past 4 days and we still survived. Well, that ends it all for my experience, and I hope to see my patrol some time later, whether is it in scouting or in everyday life!

Ain't this a beauty? Guess what... It's mine :) Well i got it quite a few days ago but hadn't really had the time to post.. Its a great new laptop.... 2GHz Core 2 Duo... 2GB RAM(upgraded from 1GB) and 120GB of hard disk space! Well.. No more worries about my laptop running out of space then! And my dad got a real good discount of around 400 dollars for this laptop! I just love my dad!(Well, for those of you thinking how mercenery i might look...even if dad didn't buy this laptop for me I would still love my parents to the core!) Happy belated father's day to my dad as well!
Anw, I just came back from PLTC, if i ever gonna post about it, its probably tomorrow.

LOL I must come to announce that the soccer team got into the last 16 of some national street soccer competition prelimary round! Considering that there were 40 teams participating and how pro most of the people were (they were mostly malays you see....) that was an acheivement! (yar right... the truth behind our top 16 position is.....) Well anyway that was on sunday. I went straight to my cuz's house after that in my stiny clothes.. I brought my shirt pants but no....you know what. so i could not really bathe.. I just changed out of my shirt and thats it.yucks. well we sorta had fun on the com listening to youtube and different songs. Didn't know my cousins liked heavy metal lol... its like one of the not that nice genres of music with bloody loud sounds which you cannot decipher. Well, its not as bad as rap ;) (save for a few songs) ah.. I forgot to mention that it was my grandma's bdae, there were lots of food and sharkfin! Well, no offense to anyone of my cousins or aunty or uncle.. but the sharkfin's kinda like.. fake? (who eats real sharkfin nowadays? So ex) Dinner was served at 5 plus and I had my lunch at 2... So sway right.. i was certainly in no mood for eating anything. When I reached home I was dead hungry. My mum was kinda mad at me for not eating anything at my uncle's place but well, I just cooked instant noodles and that was it.
Today we had some soccer match arranged by lian han against VS C division( in case you dunno... its Victoria School)... It was real awkward to be playing against people half to 3 quarters your height and they still owned us. We lost something like 2-1.. Not that bad considering that they were 2nd in singapore... Not that good either cause we were like A,B,C division against C div lol.. This match was not really a great match for me.. I made quite alot of blunders (sorry!) one of which led to one of their goals :( Oh ya our only goal was scored by shengsheng... but that was only when cai yue starting playing striker and owning the defense with his size.. It was not a particularly tiring match for me though.. probably because i play as a defender and i just wait for the ball lol.. Anyway... right after that I went for some PSL meeting..I was sweating like crazy and brought a change.. but guess what, I didn't change at all lol cause i was too....lazy. PSL meeting was kinda slack cause we're only doing the pouches now which just involves threading and folding some stuff.. What a way to spend a day. Well I played a bit of basketball too with zikai and co cause I was feeling really bored after lunch... We finished around 3 o'clock and we started to play some cards.. with debra playing cards too what game other than bridge would we play.. Eugene was trying really hard to teach Jer Lin how to play bridge but I think she only understood half of what he was saying. There was once when like we were bidding Jer Lin went.. Queen of Spades, Lol! Well, shes new so its not really her fault.... ( For those of you who understand good... for those who dun.. never mind) I went home after that.. just in time to hear Mr Lee stepping into the classroom say," How come you all playing cards!" lol! Am I lucky or something.. Plenty of seats on the mrt, great for taking a nice nap :)

Yo! Hope those people who went to the chalet had one heck of a day having fun! Chalet went quite smoothly i must say, I had expected it not to run as smoothly.
Well, we all met up at tampines mall, apparently everyone managed to meet each other at macdonalds when the instruction were not very clear in my opinion. Initially we agreed to split up and find our food first, and then it ended up everyone eating at pasta mania. The food there was ok, considering me, jaryl and stuart spent only $3.80 there. After that we all went to the arcade... the daytona there was like bloody sucky la... only one was in operation. there were a group of people there initially so we waited for dam long before we could get our hands on daytona. We played some shooting game and air hockey before actually playing daytona. I tried the advanced level and got owned real badly lol.
Well, after that we decided to go bowling in safra. We had to wait darn long before we got to bowl, something like 30-45 minutes. While waiting for the lanes, me and jaryl wanted to play pool, but when the table vacated some guy just sorta snatched our turn in front of us, how smart. Well, we didn do anything to him and just went back to watching people play cards. Bowling was quite fun, just that i didn play too well in the second game... meaning that i even got owned by girls! gosh :(
Got to the chalet after that, via bus of course. Sorry jean who had waited from 2pm, when we only reached at 530. Helped to carry some stuff from cleo's dad's car to the chalet itself. Cleo and whaipeng and cleo's dad had earlier helped to buy stuff from the supermarket, thanks! Heard that they got a little lost though, maybe i should had gone with them...
Once we were settled down in the chalet, we tried to start the fire. I must surely emphasise the word "tried". Oh well, after some kind soul dripped some oil and fanned a bit the fire was like ready to go lol. Stuart was bbq-ing chicken wings which I heard was fantastic but I don't know for sure.(I don't eat chicken wings you see....) The rest was bbq-ing other stuff such as satay and fanning the fire while others basically....... slacked.. you know who you are ;) I was myself in charge of the fire but i got bored of it after a while and went inside to prepare the flour and water bombs. You guys should have seen the mess we made inside! It was like flour everywhere, and when you wanted to wash you hands, it just became dirtier.. did i mention that one of the water bombs somehow got stuck in the toilet bowl?
Well, after that we just bombed those people still bbqing outside the chalet.. apparantly stuart got quite angry and wanted to use his chicken juice on us... yucks! But oh well, I just handed gerlynn's water guns to jaryl and debra and they all started shooting and bombing each other.. then they had to use water bottles to splash water... and all of us got wet! The fire almost died in the "battle", but luckily we didn't piss anyone off....yet. Stuart and some other people cooked the remaining chicken wings and we were basically done. While waiting for my turn to bathe, jaryl, aik ann, me and chua played tai di. Stuart joined in later when chua left for her turn to bathe. I baked 4 marshmellows in the dying fire and they were like really really really sweet. Played and rewatched a little of blood diamond before going off to bathe.
People were starting to get bored of blood diamond. I thought that it was a nice movie but well they didn't so we switched movie to 300. Lol, it was quite crappy, like the blood they used was less real than tomato ketchup, and the story is quite boring too. In the middle of the movie we got scolded by the security guard but its more likely our neighbors caused it more than us... After 15 minutes those neighbours, or rather paikia since they looked like one, went out to gamble.. Bloddy hell... stuart wanted to take a pic, and they saw... and they confronted him. After that stuart just called the security and they dealt with the paikias. V for venatta was next but because the tv was soft, i could not hear anything and thus went to "nap", first for 5 minutes, then 10, then 30. lol. We watched white chicks next and it was bloody funny and gay! We went to sleep after that and it was about 5 plus liao.. Poor jaryl didnt have a place to sleep though, but he said he was not sleepy...
Woke up at round 840 plus and we started to sort leftovers out.. Kudos to Jean who helped lots in this area, actually she helped lots almost everywhere. She was like bring all the stuff to the front and asking people what they wanted to bring back.. I actually thought of helping her, but was too lazy to move my legs... No wonder jean said in her blog I was quite NATO.. well i agree with that a little.... should change my mentality then!
Next stop after checking out was escape theme park! But i'll post about that another time... if not it'll take forever to finish posting!(I already took 2 hours posting about this, while doing other stuff of course)
P.S Gosh, I really need to thank some people for making this chalet possible! Firstly... I need to thank debra for suggesting this idea and helping in the initial stages of planning.. without her this won't even happen! Next up... its whaipeng. She really helped me with the logistics and some planning too...without her, you guys won't have anything to eat! Jean also played a big part too! She travelled all the way to the east to help us book the chalet, and helped loads during the actual chalet itself, making sure that everything goes quite smoothly. Cleo helped us by getting the bbq food together with whai peng and getting her dad to help transport the food.. Without her, the food would all spoil! Lastly, I needa thank everyone for being so sporting during the chalet and contributing to the fun we all had! Thanks to everyone!
